Teams Ready to Abseil for Africa!

09 Dec 2011

Join SOS Africa's Sponsored Abseil Event Down the Kilver Court Viaduct

After months of fundraising and mental preparation, 90 individuals from 14 different Somerset-based groups and businesses are now ready to take on the challenge of abseiling down Kilver Court’s historic viaduct to raise the final funds required by SOS Africa’s School Bus Appeal. Among those taking part are accountants, vets, steam loco enthusiasts, legal secretaries, researchers, as well as pub, office, shop and charity staff.

The event will begin at 9am on Saturday 10th December when the SOS Africa charity’s own staff will lead the way down the viaduct. From then on teams of six will follow suit every hour until 4pm on Sunday afternoon.

Each team member is being asked to raise at least £50 for the SOS Africa School Bus Appeal. If they are successful, SOS Africa will have reached its £15,000 target and will be able to purchase a school bus ready for the start of the school year in January 2012.

The abseiling schedule is displayed below. If you wish, you can also sponsor any of the teams taking part by clicking on the links to their online fundraising pages:
