When searching for the best charities to donate to, it can be hard to know where your money will be most appreciated, most well-used, and most impactful. If you’re looking to give to a charity in Africa, consider making a donation to SOS Africa. With your support, we’re working to help secure the education, care, and well-being of South African children in need.
How will my donation be used by SOS Africa?
Since we were established in 2003, SOS Africa Charity has invested 100% of all donations made into the education and care of the South African township children we seek to serve.
We aim to provide everything they need to thrive. Thanks to the invaluable charitable donations made by our supporters since 2003, the first SOS Africa Graduates are now through the education system and are either in university or full-time employment.
Why Donate to SOS Africa?
With the help of loyal donors, sponsors and fundraisers, our grassroots charity has provided disadvantaged South African children, from grades 1 to 12, with a personal education programme tailored specifically to their needs. Our personal approach to charitable giving enables us to provide regular feedback to the individuals, businesses and schools who decide to donate money to help our African children. If you, your colleagues or students donate to the SOS Africa Children’s Charity, we can show the invaluable impact made by your charitable donation.

Donate to African Education Projects
You can also sponsor vital education projects. These raise the standard of education provided by SOS Africa’s partner schools.
If you make a donation towards our education projects in Africa, you can decide which specific charity project you would like SOS Africa to sponsor. We can then provide feedback to demonstrate the impact of your donation. Sponsors are even encouraged to visit African education projects after completion.
Depending on your preference, your charitable donation could also fund one of the following education projects at a school in South Africa:
- Building Projects: Donate towards the construction of school classrooms, playgrounds, toilet blocks and sports facilities. Visit: Porta Romana Education Centre Building Project Blog.
- Employing Teachers: Sponsoring the salaries of teachers, counsellors and learning support staff to improve the academic support provided by schools.
