The children at our Somerset West Education Centre have had great fun making puppet friends. Not only is this a brilliant creative project but it also encourages imaginative play. We have been giggling listening to the funny voice impressions the children have come up with their puppets, not to mention the things they seem to feel more comfortable saying as the puppet instead of as themselves…

Anyway, the first step was to outline patterns on our chosen fabrics. It really helps to do this with a friend as an extra pair of hands to hold down the design is very helpful!

What do you think of our puppets? We still need to give them names – can you give us some ideas?
