Last week the kids from SOS Africa Somerset West got a big surprise thanks to Pottery House in Gordan’s Bay – a newly opened business run by a brilliant young couple, Kathleen and Beyon.
But, before the creativity started we filled our bellies with delicious pizza and homemade chilli mayo!
YUM YUM YUM!
A brand new white plate can seem quite daunting at first. What to paint, what colour, what shapes or patterns?
All of a sudden creative juices start flowing and the plates started taking on new life…
The silence and concentration on every face was phenomenal.
Kathleen came round to offer more help and praise for the great ideas the children were coming up with.
Now just look at some of these masterpieces. Kim and Karabo wrote inspirational messages to themselves on the back, words and phrases of upliftment and encouragement.
These two… best buddies.
Here we have, by coincidence, the ‘yellow shirt team,’ who were enormously proud of their plates.
Meyah and Latham, the incredibly talented brother and sister!
A HUGE thank you to the Pottery House team and of course the wonderful sponsors who contributed towards this fun holiday activity for the children.
Ryno was still painting after everyone else left and lovely Kathleen helped him finish. If you are ever in Gordan’s Bay, we highly recommend this special place!
