SOS Africa Education Programme Graduates achieve merits and distinctions after first years at university...

The SOS Africa staff and children have started 2021 on a high after receiving the inspiring news that graduates Obu, Othu and Olebogeng have received excellent year 1 grades in their Computer Science, Mathematics and Organisational Psychology courses at the Universities of Pretoria and North-West.

SOS Africa Graduates achieve merits and distinctions after first years at university...

From the moment they first joined the charity’s education programmes in 2004/05 the SOS Africa staff knew that these bright kids had the potential to go far with the right support and application. Despite this, with so many challenges to face and barriers to overcome along the way, their success was far from a certainty. However, throughout the many years which followed, not only did they succeed, they thrived. After progressing through their school years, passing matric, graduating from High School and passing the required foundation courses, their acceptance into university was a proud moment for everyone who has walked their journeys with them.

“The news that some of SOS Africa’s first graduates have obtained merits and distinctions in many of their university modules has truly inspired us all, not least the many children following closely in their footsteps. We couldn’t be prouder of these wonderful role models who regularly return to SOS Africa’s Mafikeng Education Centre each afternoon to tutor the younger SOS Africa children. We wish them well for the completion of their courses and with their very bright futures thereafter.” (Matt Crowcombe, SOS Africa CEO/Founder)
