Glastonbury Festival Litter Picking Volunteers Donate £5000 to Protect SOS Africa Children Against Corona Virus Pandemic

Our lives have all been affected by the Corona Virus Pandemic in so many different ways, but it is now more important than ever that we all look out for one another. This evening SOS Africa’s 120 strong team of volunteer litter pickers were due to arrive at Glastonbury’s 50th Anniversary Festival to enjoy the festivities, keep the Pyramid Stage field clean and in doing so raise funds for the SOS Africa children...

However, when they first found out about the cancellation of the festival, their greatest concern was not missing the music, but the welfare of the SOS Africa children. To make up for the funds they would not be able to raise at this year's festival, they generously donated £5000 out of their own pockets!

SOS Africa Somerset West Education Centre Modifications
 
Thanks to their kindness, a portion of the funds they donated will be used to make vital modifications to SOS Africa’s Somerset West Education Centre. This investment will upgrade the educational facilities available and protect the health and well-being of our staff and children when they return on July 6th!

The building work began on Tuesday and we cannot wait to show them the incredible difference their generosity will make when it is completed in a few weeks time...
