We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2012 SOS Africa Cardiff Half Marathon Team competition for two tickets to South Africa to meet the SOS Africa children… is WILLIAM PRITCHARD!!

The draw was held in South Wales today by SOS Africa’s very own Olympic Torch Bearer, Matthew Davies. There were 7 runners entered into the draw, each having raised over £250 for the Half Marathon event. William Pritchard and Rachel Evans were entered twice for raising over £400 for the SOS Africa Children.

SOS Africa co-founder Matt Crowcombe said: “We are thrilled to be able to award Will with this prize, as he has now completed 3 Cardiff Half Marathons for SOS Africa and raised over £1000 for our children.”

“Will, a sufferer of mild Cerebral Palsy, has inspired many people by never letting his condition stand in the way of achieving his goals.”

When we contacted Will with the news, after taking a while to let it sink in he said: “It’s superb, I am over the moon!”

Will’s South African adventure will begin in the summer of next year during which he will be introduced to all of the children he has worked so hard to support over the past three years.

We would also like to thank Matthew Davies, who himself has just completed his second Snowdonia Marathon for the charity and his partner Lisa for helping us draw the lucky winner. Our thanks also go to all of the other members of SOS Africa’s 2012 Cardiff Half Marathon Team for all they have achieved.
