SOS Africa and JooMo Ltd Join Forces to Empower South Africa's Future Generations
24 Sep 2012
JooMo Ltd Director Nick Wallen recently approached SOS Africa in pursuit of an association which could help empower young people throughout a developing country. After a short discussion it quickly became apparent that JooMo Ltd and SOS Africa share very similar values and aspirations; whilst SOS Africa seeks to empower underprivileged children through the provision of education, JooMo Ltd is run by a cooperative of young people seeking to develop entrepreneurial skills through the marketing and selling of the JooMo products: “We really want to help young people into employment and help them develop entrepreneurial skills especially in the current economic climate, when so many of them are unemployed,” stated Linda Russell, Founder of JooMo Ltd.
The JooMo Ltd product was first developed after Linda Russell began to experience severe skin sores which resulted from the unnatural synthetic ingredients present in modern day cosmetic products: “It quickly became obvious that the introduction of 20th Century cosmetic products has led to the alteration of the skin’s natural condition and the breakdown of its defences – which explains the current dramatic rise in skin allergies and ailments,” stated Linda. With the assistance of a University Research Team, Linda and Nick found that simple natural ingredients can both clean the skin and restore its natural environment; these ingredients had completely cured Linda’s skin condition and before long the JooMo Ltd 100% Natural Skin Care Cream was born.
When discussing how JooMo Ltd could assist SOS Africa’s education programme, Nick proposed that his company donate 50p to SOS Africa for every new customer order and an additional 10p for every Facebook ‘like.’ He suggested that the money raised be invested in the education and care of an SOS Africa child: “Like SOS Africa, we don’t believe that simply throwing money at a problem solves it – young people need to be empowered and made independent through education. We felt inspired when we discovered Matt, Henry and everyone involved with SOS Africa, and we want to play a part in helping young people have a bright future.”
Enthused by Nick and Linda’s aspirations and the story of JooMo Ltd, SOS Africa jumped at the opportunity of forming a working partnership with this exciting company. SOS Africa co-founder Matt Crowcombe said: “We are really excited by JooMo’s proposals and would love to work with them. Fundraising initiatives like this are so important to us at SOS Africa, as they are directly responsible for our achievements in educating and supporting underprivileged African township children.”
Thanks to JooMo Ltd it has never been easier to support the SOS Africa Charity, by either clicking ‘like’ on JooMo Ltd Facebook Page or by purchasing one of their revolutionary products via the JooMo Ltd website. On behalf of the SOS Africa Children we would like to say a big thank you to Nick, Linda and everyone at JooMo Ltd and wish them luck with their exciting new products.
