Mulberry Founder Roger Saul Welcomes SOS Africa to Kilver Court
02 Aug 2011
Since its inauguration in January 2003, the SOS Africa Charity has had many proud moments; walking the first SOS Africa child to his first day at school, attending each of our childrens primary school graduation ceremonies, distributing footballs and football kits for schools throughout South Africa’s townships during the Football World Cup, to name but a few. The 1st August 2011 represented another of these memorable moments, as SOS Africa opened its first official UK office at Kilver Court, in Shepton Mallet, Somerset.
It is hoped that this office will enable the charity to increase its UK and worldwide fundraising initiatives, improve communication with its sponsors and with its offices and volunteers in South Africa and ultimately increase the charity’s impact upon the lives of the country’s underprivileged children. In addition to the office itself, SOS Africa will also benefit from the excellent facilities available at Kilver Court, including its conference rooms, beautiful gardens and wide range of retail shops.
This occasion was made extra special by the warm welcome we received from Kilver Court and Sharpham Park owner and founder of Mulberry, Roger Saul: “We are so very pleased to welcome SOS Africa, led by Matt, to Kilver Court. We fully support Matt and all his endeavours for this very worthwhile cause”.
SOS Africa UK President Matt Crowcombe is particularly excited about involving the local community within the charity’s future projects: “Much of SOS Africa’s recent successes can be attributed to the support it has received from the local community here in Somerset. Kilver Court is an ideal venue for this new stage in the charity’s development.
“We would also like to thank Kilver Court’s manager Anthony Stacey and the Kilver Court staff for their kindness and support over the past few weeks.”
If you would like to get involved in the work of SOS Africa, please feel free to book an appointment to visit us at our new office, at Kilver Court, Shepton Mallet, from August 2011, by emailing email@example.com, calling 01749340426 or by enquiring at the Kilver Court reception desk.
